COMPETE 2030 invests 143M€ in Research, Development and Innovation

COMPETE 2030 announces the launch of a call for proposals for co-promoted Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) projects, with an allocation of 143 million euros to contribute to the development of a more innovative and competitive business ecosystem.

The call, in conjunction with the Lisbon 2030 and Algarve 2030 Regional Programmes and with an overall allocation of 149 million euros, will support projects that contribute to developing activities from research to the production and market introduction of innovative products or services.

This measure also aims to continue the dynamics generated by the Mobilising Agendas supported under the PRR, providing an opportunity to develop initiatives aimed at placing products on the market with a high level of incorporation of national technology, generating added value for the Portuguese economy.

This call is particularly important as it may involve the participation of large companies in projects carried out with SMEs and may also include the collaboration of organisations from the scientific and technological system.

The geographical area covered by the call is the NUTS II regions of mainland Portugal (North, Centre, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve).

Applications will be submitted in two phases, the first from the 31 January 2025 until 30 May 2025 and the second until 30 October 2025.

Applications can be submitted from the 31 January 2025, via the Balcão dos Fundos.
